Dean Zone

Born and raised in Walthamstow, East London. Other aliases include: The Zone, Deano Scappellio, Cartman, Vinny, Phlegmin, Deano and Fuckwit. Went to school in Chingford, where I met the guys I still hang out with today (Shout going out to Dan Stockwell, Woody and Ben! Big up yourself!).

They tried, (with poor results) to convert me to the ways of Rock/Metal. But music wasn't my alley, at 15 all I cared about were my computer games! Then one of my mates was having a CD clear out and gave me Trance Nation, Mixed by Ferry Corsten. I havent turned back since. Attended my first rave in August 2000, Raindance @ SeOne. Only started going out often since the start of 2005! I'm out most weekends now, money permitting of course! Have made loads of great friends from HarderFaster.Net, some of whom use this site (you know who you are!), and I am looking to expand my horizons, so I have joined DSI to see what havoc I can reek, what sets I can blag, and what friendships I can make!

I bought my first pair of decks in April 2002 (Sony Direct Drives, not as bad as you would think!) on the back of my student loan (sorry about that taxpayers!), and a basic mixer (just a crossfader, 2 leve faders and gains, no split cue or even EQ's!) and started learning.
Originally playing UK Hard Trance and filthy Hard House, I found my "sound" sometime in the summer of 2005, which was European Hard Trance (think Scot Project/DJ Wag/Dark By Design) and Hardstyle. Since then I would like to think that I have achieved quite alot in a relatively short space of time.

In December 2005, after over 3 years of practice and defining my sound, I got my first set, playing for Heat. At Turnmills. Back to back with Carl Nicholson. Not bad for a first set!

Playing European Hard Trance and Hardstyle, a style of music not often heard in the clubs of London, I have managed to carve out a niche in the London scene, having played for the likes of Frantic, Tasty, Innovate, Zoology and Addiction to name a few, and have recently began to expand my horizons, with recent gigs coming from as far afield as Wales. You may have heard of me as DJ Zone, but I changed it to Dean Zone in Jan '07.

Recent success's include joining SWAMP as a resident DJ/promoter, being featured in I-DJ magazine (Feb '07) and being voted runner up in the HarderFaster.Net awards for best up and coming DJ.
