A mahoosive thank you to everyone who came down
to the last Requiem at the end of May, it was such a good night!
There were more actual clubbers in attendance than the first one,
despite a clash with GCSSS, and the dancefloor remained jam-packed
all night long with actual music-lovers. The atmosphere was
brilliant with everyone appreciating the breakdowns and really
enjoying themselves, and another mahoosive thank you to Pierce
Rooney, Butcher Boy, Tim Stokes and Steve Maynard who all played
really top drawer sets full of the highest quality hard stuff. I
really can’t wait for number 3 now - it’s time for the FlashPoint
5th Birthday Tour bus to call!
Since its revamp, Club 414 is now one of the best clubs in London in
my opinion - perfect for grimey Hard House sessions - and will be
the ideal place to host the FlashPoint Tour in the capital. The club
has one of the best sound systems I’ve ever heard, crystal clear and
nicely loud, and since Marc broke the monitor and they had to get
new ones, DJing is a lovely experience! Upstairs is a wicked
chillout area where you can go without missing the tunage from
downstairs, with a fish tank and everything, and there’s even a
place to get cheese toasties… Reminds me of a clean Arches in
Sheffield!
Heading up the line-up for the FlashPoint tour can be none other
than the label bosses, Marc Johnson and Jupe. It’s not often Jupe
gets back to our sunny climes from his miserable existence in er…
the Dominican Republic, so be sure to come along and check him out!
Marc and Jupe will be playing an exclusive b2b FlashPoint Classics
set which I can’t wait for! Chris Comben is also back from his
oriental jolly and so will be fully in attendance, boshing out the
latest material from the Combat and Tripoli camps along with
whatever else he chooses. And of course Dave Curtis will also be
playing, representing FlashPoint and FlashPoint Digital and the best
new music in the scene. |

Our guests this
month comprise three of the best up and coming producers and DJs
with very different styles. Tom Parr is a future legend, producing
and engineering cracking dancefloor tunes appearing on labels all
over the place, including FlashPoint, Oktane and his own new label
with K8-e, Atomik Reaction. Kauz is seemingly in the studio every 5
minutes and has tracks coming out on FlashPoint, Toolbox, and
Hammerheads, and with his djing up and down the country at
increasingly large nights he is definitely another star of the
future. Finally we have Twist legend Paul Batten who has recently
been destroying dancefloors with some particularly evil productions
with Brow like Sloppy Jaloppy, Cake Mix, Slapstick and their Deep
Swarm remix. Paul is a fantastic and versatile DJ and will be
playing a special 2hour warm up set of techno and all-sorts thrown
in there.
Come down and help celebrate FlashPoint’s 5th Birthday with us! And
don’t forget a present! |
